The Terminator movies in order kicked off in 1984 with the first movie in the series The Terminator. If you’re a fan of action movies, then there is no better franchise for you than the Terminator series. These films take you through the U.S. strategic’s Cyberdyne Systems which becomes self-aware but John Connor’s Resistance forces with the rest of the human race. The Current series includes six films, the latest of which entitled Terminator Dark Fate came out in 2019. The series appears to have a long and prosperous future ahead of it. As recently as this year, the director of the Terminator movies has stated that he intends to produce at least one prequel, perhaps one more films in this series.

If you’re wondering if it’s necessary to watch the Terminator movies in order, the answer is probably yes. Each movie completely contains a plot that is chronological all movies. While the character remains similar from one movie to the next, the plotline continues to remain consistent across all six. Additionally, there is a flashback in later movies that provide any necessary context you need to enjoy whichever film you’re watching. However, if you intend to watch the entire series, I would watch them in order just so you can watch the various character develop. Aside from that, if you just want to watch the latest one in the series, you’ll still enjoy them.

However, it appears that the opposite is true with Terminator, where the latest 1991 hit, Terminator 2 was the most highly rated movie of all. This can be attributed to the plot, but also the amazing special effects differences from the last movie in Terminator 1 in 1984.

The future of this movie series looks bright, and according to its makes, there is enough left in the story for at least one new film. After the release of Dark Fate, Tim Miller stated that the next film entitled Terminator had already been written and he hopes to start production soon. After the release of Dark Fate, Miller spread that it was the end of the Terminator series. However, Miller confirmed in a January 2020 interview that those statements were untrue and that the series would continue to live on.

For Decades, Terminator has been delivering the ultimate action packed movies, with nearly non-stop fighting, explosion, and more. The films which have developed a cult following are just now being revived after nearly one decades of silence from their makers. With At least one more in the works, this hit series is going to keep its fans entertained for many years to come.
